Whether you’re looking for a long, lazy lunch with friends, dancing barefoot in the sand, cocktails beneath striped parasols, hidden nooks among the rocks, or refreshing dips straight from a pontoon into the sea, there’s a setting for every mood.

Fontelina Beach Club, Capri
Unique, beautiful and effortlessly exclusive, Fontelina Beach Club is one of Capri’s most iconic seaside spots.
It attracts a stylish, VIP crowd but without any of the pretense you might expect. The club’s famous blue and white parasols line the rocks, while sunbeds and deckchairs are dotted amongst the rugged outcrops overlooking the impossibly clear water.
Perfect for guests staying on Capri or those arriving by private boat from Positano or Amalfi, Fontelina is a must when visiting the island. It’s incredibly popular though, so this is one to book well in advance.
Jondal, Ibiza

Jondal has quickly become one of Ibiza’s most sought-after beach spots. You’ll find it set along the stylish Cala Jondal bay - the same stretch of coastline that’s home to the infamous Blue Marlin.
Owned by celebrated chef Rafa Zafra, the restaurant is the true star here. The atmosphere is effortlessly chic, making it the perfect setting for long, sun-soaked lunches with friends that easily stretch into the afternoon and onto sundowners.
For something a little more hidden away, another island favourite worth seeking out is Experimental Beach Ibiza, a more relaxed but equally stylish space.
JNcQUOI, Comporta
Set along the wild, windswept beaches of Comporta and nestled between rolling sand dunes, JNcQUOI offers a very different kind of beach club experience.
The interiors reflect the natural beauty of the landscape, but the service and atmosphere remain as chic as ever. Our tip is to reserve a table outside and enjoy a leisurely lunch with your feet in the sand.
Afterwards, move down to the beach and settle into a lounger. Cocktails arrive from the cabana bar while a rotating line-up of guest DJs provides the soundtrack. If (like me) you’re a lover of sunsets, don’t miss one here, they’re nothing short of spectacular.
Cookoovaya, Antiparos
Located within one of our favourite Antiparos hotels, The Beach House, Cookoovaya is the island’s newest culinary destination.
The restaurant is the second venture from chef Periklis Koskinas, following the success of the original Cookoovaya in Athens. Just 8km from the port, it’s an easy spot for day-trippers arriving by ferry from Paros. Alternatively, arriving by private boat or staying overnight nearby certainly adds to the experience.
Set within a pretty cove, it’s the perfect place for a long, sun-dappled lunch. The menu celebrates simple local ingredients, with flavours balanced through traditional techniques and thoughtful preparation.
Macakizi, Bodrum
Macakizi offers a slightly different take on the classic beach club. Here, it’s less about sandy shores and more about elegant pontoon living.
Set along Bodrum’s glittering coastline, guests spend long afternoons lounging on expansive wooden decks suspended above the sea. It’s a favourite among hotel guests and those arriving by yacht for the day.
Expect relaxed glamour, excellent cocktails, and a distinctly Riviera-style atmosphere.
Cala Duo, Formentera
Cala Duo is one for the lovers of a daytime party - the cool crowd, the rebels, and anyone looking for high-energy beachside vibes.
Located close to the ferry port, it’s an easy and popular day trip from Ibiza. Music, sushi, cocktails and a lively atmosphere keep the energy high from midday onwards.
If you’re after something more relaxed, head to the south side of the island instead and spend the day at Gecko Beach Club. Here, loungers sit between the beach and pool, the food is excellent, and the Thai-style mussels and pollo y jamón croquettes are not to be missed.
Bagno Marrino Archi, Puglia
There’s something about a cliffside beach club that instantly sets the scene and affirms you’re truly in Italy. Bagno Marrino Archi captures that image perfectly.
Set on the rocks along Puglia’s rugged coastline, this laid-back beach club sits less than 30 minutes south of Otranto or about 45 minutes from Lecce, making it an ideal day trip from the city.
The dramatic setting does mean access involves a few steps and rocky pathways, which may not suit every traveller, but for those who make it down, you’ll rewarded with one of the region’s most atmospheric seaside spots.
Expect fresh seafood, handmade pasta and wood-fired pizzas emerging from the kitchen - exactly what you’d hope for from a seaside lunch in southern Italy.
Le Club 55, St Tropez

Saving one of the best for last - few beach clubs are as iconic as Le Club 55 in St Tropez.
Guests can spend the day on blue canvas loungers shaded beneath traditional straw canopies, soaking up the timeless Riviera atmosphere. The restaurant remains the heart of the experience, serving simple dishes that celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients - many grown in the club’s own gardens scattered throughout the region. Fresh fish and organic vegetables take centre stage on the menu.
While guests can reserve both restaurant tables and beach loungers, dining is reserved for the restaurant itself rather than at the sunbeds.
