March
The month to explore in depth...
Argentina
March marks the tail end of summer in Argentina. The days remain warm, crowds begin to subside and travel across the country is a dream.
Buenos Aires is your jumping off point. Spend a few days soaking up the energy of this vibrant city and from here the options are endless. Head south to explore Patagonia’s dramatic landscapes, where we’ll suggest picture perfect mountain lodges and unforgettable hiking trails. For lovers of food and wine, Mendoza is not to be missed - you’ll go for the vineyards and stay for the buzzing restaurant scene. If natural phenomena are your draw, you’ll want to head north to witness the mighty Iguazú Falls, where a stay at Awasi Iguazú will only enhance your experience.
Japan
Yes cherry blossom season may bring crowds, but it's hard to resist the desire to watch nature transform cities and countryside into a pastel wonderland. As blooms sweep from south to north, we work with those in the know to make sure you avoid bottleneck moments. Mild temperatures make it ideal for strolling historic streets, visiting temples, and soaking in Japan’s iconic culture. And for those seeking adventure, snow capped mountains in the north mean a trip to the slopes could also be on the cards.
No matter the time of year, a visit to Japan is one to plan well ahead of time. Whether you prefer to stay in traditional ryokans or luxury hotels, accommodation gets booked early, as do the best guides.
India
With cooler, dry conditions across much of the country, March is ideal for exploring the cultural melting pot that is India.
With so much ground to be covered, it’s almost impossible to do everything in one trip but highlights for first timers include; the history and palaces of Rajasthan, the cosmopolitan buzz of Mumbai, a wilderness camp in Ranthambore National Park (Sujan Sher Bagh is our favourite lodge), downtime on the beaches of Goa or drifting along the backwaters of Kerela.
The festival of Holi typically falls in March, a colourful and vibrant experience like no other.
Cambodia
The dry season continues through March, making it perfect for exploring Cambodia's jewel in the crown, Angkor Wat. A stay at Zannier Phum Baitang acts as the perfect base from which to explore the worlds most visited temple complex.
A visit to Phnom Penh offer guests the chance to continue on a cultural and historical immersion. While warm, sunny days make the coastal areas and riverside towns ideal for a moment of reflection.
March is also a great month to combine destinations with a visit to neighbouring countries; Thailand, Laos & Vietnam.
Morocco
While Europe slowly emerges from the depths of winter, temperatures are on the rise in North Africa, making Morocco the perfect destination for a March escape.
Take time to wander Marrakech’s medinas, trek in the Atlas Mountains, enjoy history and colour in Fez & Chefchaouen or, take your time exploring the coastline from Tamuda Bay in the north to Taghazout in the south.
Tangier’s reputation is on the rise thanks to it’s buzzy cafe & restaurant scene - it’s also a great hopping off point to extend your trip into southern Spain or Portugal.
