July

The month to celebrate summer...

Italy

As a Papillon favourite, Italy has our heart - especially in July. From the sun-drenched hills of Tuscany and glittering Amalfi Coast to the bustling piazzas of Rome and Venice, every corner offers something unforgettable.

We love designing itineraries for every style of travel, whether it’s culinary journeys, art and culture tours, or leisurely coastal escapes, we help guests to experience Italy at its very best, even at the height of summer.

Some favourite stays; Borgo Santandrea, Amalfi - Hotel Il Pellicano, Porto Ercole - Passalaqua, Lake Como - Orient Express La Minerva, Rome - The Venice Venice Hotel, in you guessed it, Venice.

Croatia

July brings sun-soaked days and warm seas, perfect for exploring Croatia’s Adriatic coastline, historic towns, and hidden coves.

Enjoy time sailing between islands, with Lošinj, Brac and Hvar being amongst our favourites - a stay at stylish seaside hideaway Maslina is a must. On the mainland explore the emerald lakes and waterfalls of Plitivce National Park before a enjoying a couple of night in charming town of Split. Your time in Croatia isn’t complete without a visit to Dubrovnik, where every corner feels like a film set.

For guests looking for more in-depth adventures, Croatia is perfectly positioned for journeys north into Slovenia or south to Montenegro.

Kenya

July is the start of the Great Migration in the Masai Mara, offering an incredible wildlife spectacle without the peak August crowds.

Start your journey with a night at Giraffe Manor before you journey north for warm encounters with indigenous communities in Samburu. Then it’s on to the Masai Mara where House in the Wild or Cottar’s Camp provide the perfect base for safari adventures.

End with downtime on the Kenyan coast. Alfajiri Villas and Kinondo Kwetu are favourites, while the Lamu island offers a different beach perspective. Zanzibar, Mauritius and Seychelles are all easily reached for an island finale.

Mauritius

For travellers seeking something beyond Europe, Mauritius offers a great-value beach holiday with a mix of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and cultural experiences.

July is drier and cooler, making it perfect for families and anyone looking to enjoy sun, sand, and relaxation without the intense summer heat.

Papillon guest favourites include One & Only Le Saint Geran and Shangri-La Le Touessrok. Or for something a little different and boutique in style, La Maison 20 Degrés Sud could be the ideal choice.

Brazil

While the vast size of Brazil means trips are possible year-round, July offers cooler, drier conditions across much of the country, making it ideal for exploring Rio’s vibrant culture, the Amazon’s wildlife, or the southern regions.

It’s also a great time to enjoy fewer crowds while experiencing the country’s rich landscapes, rhythms, and flavours.
